Getting rid of fat

LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction or liposculpture is a surgical operation which allows the removal of build-ups of fat located in various regions of the body: the chin, neck, arms, stomach, hips (flabby thighs), love handles, buttocks, inner thighs and knees, calves, ankles, etc. This is a relatively safe, simple technique and can be used to shape the figures of both men and women. Laboratory examinations are always carried out before the operation which is performed, according to circumstances, under a deep local or general anaesthetic.

During liposculpture, the fat is removed using very fine cannulas through tiny incisions made in the folds of the skin, so there is no visible scarring.

Recovering after the operation:

An oedema and some bruising appear on the regions where the operation is carried out, but this will fade away within ten days to a fortnight. A compression dressing is applied and needs to be worn night and day for 4 to 6 weeks according to circumstances. Anyone who is in good physical condition can be a candidate for liposculpture. Given that the recovery process is simple and not particularly painful, these operations generally require patients to stay in the clinic for at least 24 to 48 hours.

Results:

The results are subject to good skin elasticity. It becomes noticeable after approximately 2 months.
