Objectives of Breast Lift
Breast ptosis surgery (also called mastopexy) involves lifting the breasts and areola by removing excess skin responsible for breast sagging.

This sagging phenomenon often appears after one or more pregnancies, after breastfeeding, significant weight variations, the passage of time, or if breast hypertrophy or hypotrophy has caused breast sagging due to excess skin and its loss of elasticity.
This procedure can benefit any adult female patient, from the age of 18, who presents with sagging breasts, with downward-pointing areolas.

Before the intervention
The first consultation is essential to understand your request and your motivations. Depending on your morphology and your anatomy, your surgeon will determine his operating strategy.
The goal is to achieve a result tailored to your silhouette and that precisely takes into account the extent of the ptosis. During this consultation, it will be necessary to carefully evaluate the quality of the skin and glandular tissue.
A preoperative check-up will be carried out in accordance with the prescriptions.
Anesthesia
The breast lift is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with deep sedation.
The choice of the technique will be made between you, your anesthesiologist and your surgeon.
A consultation with your anesthesiologist will take place a few days before your procedure.
The day of the procedure
Your surgeon will adapt his operating strategy according to your particular case in order to obtain the best possible result.
The surgeon reduces the excess skin and makes an areolar or vertical incision before repositioning the areola and nipple. It is sometimes necessary to use an inverted ‘T’ incision in the inframammary fold when the ptosis is significant. He then lifts the mammary gland and redrapes the skin around the mammary gland.
The procedure generally lasts between 2 and 2.5 hours, longer if combined with the placement of breast implants.
After the procedure
It is a minimally painful procedure. Superficial bruising disappears within two to three weeks. Silicone dressings will protect the scars for 3 to 4 months to improve their quality.
They gradually fade and will have practically disappeared after about 1.5 years. A medical bra must be worn during the first month.
Numbness of the nipples disappears after a few months. Lymphatic drainage sessions by Endermologie® are highly recommended to accelerate the resorption of edema and optimize healing.
Results
The results are immediate; however, it takes a few months for the definitive results.
The formation of edema and bruising is common; they tend to disappear quickly. In the case of breast implant use, it is necessary to follow specific advice.
The breasts will have achieved their definitive shape after approximately 3 months, and between 6 months and one year if combined with breast augmentation with implants. Breastfeeding remains possible after the procedure.
The goal of this surgery is to bring an improvement and not to achieve perfection. If your wishes are realistic, the result should give you great satisfaction.
