About Body Liposuction
Objectives of Liposuction
Liposuction, or lipoaspiration, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that removes excess fat from various parts of the body (abdomen, hips, saddlebags, thighs, etc.).
This procedure thus allows for the permanent suctioning of fat cell clusters.

Liposuction is designed to rebalance your entire silhouette, creating greater harmony and symmetry.
Liposuction is one of the most frequently performed cosmetic surgery procedures in the world. It restores harmonious shapes and curves by removing specific areas of localized fat.
The accumulation of fat on the buttocks, hips, and saddlebags is relatively common. These fatty deposits often resist diets and regular exercise.
Liposuction is then used to remove persistent and localized fat deposits. It is a simple, radical, and permanent solution.
Who is liposuction for?
Liposuction is intended for patients with moderate excess fat in the abdomen, thighs, saddlebags, buttocks, and/or hips.
This procedure is not intended for overweight or obese individuals, as it is not a weight-loss solution. Liposuction is indeed indicated when the patient is close to their ideal weight, as it simply allows for the removal of localized fat known as lipomeries.

However, liposuction can be beneficial once weight-loss goals are achieved to eliminate residual fat. The procedure is possible from the age of 18.
The results of buttock liposuction are excellent when the skin is supple and elastic, and when the fatty deposits are localized rather than “diffuse.” Liposuction is a surgical procedure that can involve risks and complications.
A first consultation with your surgeon is essential to know if this intervention is adapted to your particular situation.
Before and after pictures
The Buttock Liposuction Process
Liposuction will positively transform your silhouette. The results are permanent.
Follow your surgeon’s recommendations to optimize the healing process and the quality of the result.
Before the intervention
The first consultation is essential to understand your request and your motivations. A preliminary clinical examination and a precise questioning will allow our specialist to define the most appropriate type of surgery for your case.
Your surgeon will take the time to precisely analyze your bone structure, the location and volume of fatty tissue in the buttocks, hips, and outer thighs, the overall curves of the silhouette, as well as skin quality and laxity.
A preoperative check-up will be carried out in accordance with the prescriptions.
Anesthesia
In some cases, buttock liposuction is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia, but more often local anesthesia with sedation will suffice. The choice of the technique will be made between you, your anesthesiologist and your surgeon.
A consultation with your anesthesiologist will take place a few days before your procedure.
The day of the procedure
Your surgeon will adapt their operative strategy to your specific case to achieve the best possible result. The surgeon proceeds with the suctioning of fat cells using fine, blunt-tipped cannulas inserted into the treatment areas through discreet and very short incisions.
Deep fat is thus removed in a harmonious manner. The cannulas used must always be as fine as possible to avoid irregularities and achieve the best possible skin retraction.
Bleeding and bruising are limited thanks to an infiltration of the area to be suctioned with a vasoconstrictive and anesthetic solution.
Incisions are minimal, measuring 4 millimeters, and are hidden at the hips. They are located at the level of the underwear elastic. Thus, scars are virtually invisible over time.
At the end of the procedure, modeling compression aimed at limiting post-operative edema is usually performed using a specialized compression garment (panty) or elastic bandages.
The duration of the procedure depends on the amount of fat to be extracted and the number of areas to be treated. It can vary from 20 minutes to 3 hours (averaging 1 to 2 hours).
After the procedure
It should be noted that the time required to recover from liposuction is proportional to the amount of fat extracted. Following the surgery, bruising and edema (swelling) appear in the treated regions.
Pain levels vary, but are generally minor thanks to the use of very fine cannulas. Fatigue may be felt during the first few days, especially in cases of significant fat extraction.
Normal activity can be resumed 2 to 10 days after the procedure, again depending on the extent of the liposuction and the type of professional activity. Bruising subsides within 10 to 20 days after the intervention.
Wearing an elastic compression garment is recommended for 2 to 4 weeks. Resumption of sports activities can be planned 3 weeks after the procedure. The operated areas should not be exposed to the sun or UV rays for at least 3 weeks.
Manual lymphatic drainage from the first days, followed by drainage by Endermologie® will accelerate the resorption of edema and optimize healing.
Results
It is only after 3 weeks, and once the edema has subsided, that the results will begin to appear. It will take approximately 3 to 6 months for the skin to adapt completely on the new shape of the body.
The final result can be assessed after 6 months.
Buttock liposuction thus offers a radical and permanent correction of excess fat. The goal of this surgery is to bring an improvement and not to achieve perfection. If your wishes are realistic, the result should give you great satisfaction.

Around the surgery
The first consultation
The first appointment is essential to identify your needs and expectations. Our specialists will take all the necessary time to understand your demand and offer you the best advice.
Anesthesia
Sensitive to the potentially traumatic dimension of any operation, Laclinic's doctors pay close attention to pain management to make the operation as comfortable and safe as possible.
Associated treatments
Liposuction can generally be combined with a lipofilling (autologous fat reinjection) of the breast if the indication is proven, when the patient has a lack of volume in the chest and localized excess in the buttocks, thighs and hips.
Breast Lipofilling
Breast lipofilling is a surgical technique for breast volume augmentation using injections of fat harvested by liposuction from the patient’s own body.
