Objectives of breast augmentation
Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure that allows you to increase the volume of your breasts through the placement of silicone gel-filled implants.

Whether your breasts are too small due to insufficient development during puberty or a subsequent loss of volume (pregnancy, weight loss, hormonal changes), this mammary hypotrophy or hypoplasia—defined as breast volume that is too small in relation to your morphology—often leads to diminished self-confidence or insecurities.
The volume gain achieved through breast augmentation enhances the overall silhouette and restores your full sense of femininity.
Who is BREAST AUGMENTATION for?
Breast augmentation will positively transform your silhouette. It is one of the most common procedures in cosmetic surgery and can be performed on any adult patient from the age of 18.

Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that can involve risks and complications. In all cases, an initial consultation with your surgeon is essential to determine whether this procedure is appropriate for your particular situation.

The breast augmentation procedure
Breast augmentation surgery will positively transform the harmony of your silhouette. Follow your surgeon’s recommendations to optimize the healing process and the quality of the result.
Before the intervention
The first consultation is essential to understand your request and your motivations. Depending on your morphology and your anatomy, your surgeon will determine his operating strategy.
The expected result can be simulated and discussed using our virtual imaging software, which also helps refine the choice of implants. A preoperative check-up will be carried out in accordance with the prescriptions.
Silicone implants
The implants contain a soft, cohesive silicone gel, surrounded by a strong, elastic silicone elastomer shell that prevents gel bleed to the outside.
The new generations of silicone implants are characterised by the wide variety of sizes and shapes currently available, allowing a bespoke approach based on your morphology and expectations.
Implant selection is made during the consultation with your aesthetic surgeon, supported by augmented-reality simulation software.
Anesthesia
In some cases, breast augmentation is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anaesthesia, but most often local anaesthesia with sedation may be sufficient. The choice of the technique will be made between you, your anesthesiologist and your surgeon.
A consultation with your anesthesiologist will take place a few days before your procedure.
The day of the procedure
Your surgeon will tailor the operative strategy to your specific case in order to achieve the best possible result.
Depending on your morphology and the desired outcome, the implant may be placed under the muscle or under the gland. The breast implant is inserted through incisions that may be located in or around the areola, in the armpit, or in the inframammary fold.
At the end of the procedure, a “shaping” dressing is applied using an elastic bandage. The procedure generally lasts between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes.
After the procedure
Postoperative recovery can sometimes be painful during the first few days, particularly when the implants are large and especially if they are placed behind the muscle. However, rest assured that an appropriate pain-relief treatment will be prescribed to reduce this discomfort.
Oedema (swelling), bruising and discomfort when raising the arms are common at first.
The initial dressing is removed after a few days and replaced with a lighter dressing. A bra must be worn day and night for several weeks. The sutures are generally internal and absorbable.
Work can be resumed after five to ten days, and sports activities after one to two months.
You will need to avoid exposing the scars to the sun for one year.
Results
The final result can be assessed after two to three months. This is the time needed for the breasts to regain full softness and for the implants to stabilise.
The procedure increases volume and improves the shape of the breasts. Scars are usually very discreet. Beyond the effect on the silhouette, breast augmentation very often has a beneficial psychological effect by improving self-confidence.
Unless there is significant weight variation, breast volume will remain stable in the long term. As for the shape and “support” of the breasts, “augmented” breasts will, like natural breasts, be affected by gravity and ageing, which vary depending on skin quality and implant volume.
The goal of this surgery is to bring an improvement and not to achieve perfection. If your wishes are realistic, the result should give you great satisfaction.

Around the surgery
The first consultation
The first appointment is essential to identify your needs and expectations. Our specialists will take all the necessary time to understand your demand and offer you the best advice.
Anesthesia
Sensitive to the potentially traumatic dimension of any operation, Laclinic's doctors pay close attention to pain management to make the operation as comfortable and safe as possible.
Associated treatments
This intervention is sometimes combined with a breast lipofilling , this intervention is then called “hybrid” or “composite” breast augmentation.
This technique is ideal for patients with little breast tissue, as injecting their own fat all around the implants helps conceal their contours and achieve an even more natural, harmonious result.
Breast augmentation with implants can also be combined with a breast lift in cases of breast ptosis.
Breast augmentation with lipofilling
Breast lipofilling is a liposculpture technique that increases breast volume without implants, combining liposuction (abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, for example) with reinjection of the harvested fat into the breasts.
