Orthodontics: Invisalign® aligner treatment
Objectives of Invisalign® treatment
Orthodontics aims to correct dental malposition using various techniques. As part of orthodontic treatment, the placement of an invisible dental appliance (ALIGNERS) or orthodontic trays allows for the gradual alignment of teeth in a discreet and aesthetic manner. These are referred to as aligners.

Realigning teeth helps restore the aesthetics of your smile, improve the health of gums that become less accessible for brushing when teeth overlap, stop the forward migration of incisors, close unsightly gaps between teeth, and straighten “tilted” or “lying down” teeth in the spaces of missing teeth, for example, to prepare for implant placement.
Aligners constitute a customized and painless orthodontic technique that guarantees excellent results with maximum comfort, without disrupting your professional activities or social life.
Regular replacement of the trays gently modifies the position of your teeth to achieve the desired result. Perfect alignment can be achieved in just a few months.
Who are aligners for?
More and more patients are turning to orthodontics for well-aligned teeth, but also to prevent periodontal problems and tooth loss.
Ideally, treatment should begin at a young age, but an increasing number of adults are now using aligners to enhance their smile.

Candidates for ALIGNERS treatment may present with the following orthodontic cases:
Poor tooth position: particularly caused by crowding when there is not enough space for teeth to align correctly.
Excessive spacing between teeth: caused by teeth that are too small, poor jaw growth, lost teeth, etc.
A misalignment between the upper and lower teeth.
Ectopic tooth eruption: described as a tooth growing in an abnormal position in the jaw.
Teeth grinding (bruxism), which occurs mainly at night.
An initial consultation with your specialist is essential to determine if this treatment is suitable for your specific situation.

Invisalign® aligner treatment process
Treatment begins with a study of your case to create a 3D model of your mouth. Your specialist will perform a panoramic X-ray, take special impressions, and extra- and intra-oral photographs.
After a few days, your orthodontist will present a computer simulation of your treatment, allowing you to preview the results. During this consultation, your specialist will inform you about the number of trays required, the approximate duration of treatment, and the investment it will entail. Once you agree, the fabrication of the trays will begin.
Before the first tray is placed, your specialist may attach small tooth-colored composite beads to your anterior teeth (for better grip) or polish between the teeth to allow them to “slide” more easily.
You must wear your trays continuously (minimum 22 hours/day), removing them only for eating and brushing your teeth.
You will then return every 3 to 4 weeks to monitor progress, check the condition of your teeth and gums, and receive your next set of trays.
As you progress through the treatment, your teeth will gradually shift until they reach their final corrected position.
Aftercare
At the end of treatment, retention will systematically be required behind the lower anterior teeth (incisors and canines), and possibly wearing the last tray at night on the maxilla (upper teeth) or the creation of a retainer, depending on each case.
You will be informed of this when your treatment simulation is presented. Without retention, teeth will shift again, so it is necessary to maintain your teeth in the position your specialist has placed them.
The best solution is to wear an upper tray at night and to place a small wire on the inside of the lower front teeth.
The Results
If the ALIGNERS have been worn continuously and the retainer is worn correctly, the result is permanent.
This invisible orthodontic treatment is a true revolution, which involves no social downtime and can often replace surgery.
The goal of this treatment is to provide improvement, not to achieve perfection. If your expectations remain realistic, the obtained result should give you utmost satisfaction.

To optimize the results of ALIGNERS treatment and achieve a radiant smile, teeth whitening using trays is recommended to treat yellow teeth.
This treatment is done at home and lasts several weeks. Carbamide peroxide gel is applied to the trays and worn before bedtime. The result gradually appears during treatment and lasts up to 2 years.
Dental veneers, to enhance your smile
Dental veneers are very thin ceramic shells placed on the front of the teeth to improve aesthetic imperfections of the smile, particularly concerning tooth size, alignment, shape, and shade.
