AESTHETIC NOSE SURGERY (RHINOPLASTY)

Rhinoplasty allows you to alter the shape, size and general appearance of your nose. Getting rid of a bump, refining the base of the nose, shortening or lengthening it, altering the tip… The aim is to correct any lack of harmony in the face and to improve its aesthetic balance. If there are any functional internal problems (deviation of the septum) they will be corrected during the same surgery. As the operation is performed from the inside of the nostrils, there is no visible scarring. The operation can be carried out once bone growth is complete, in other words from the age of sixteen or seventeen onwards. Laboratory examinations are always carried out in order to pick up on any potential contra-indications. The operation lasts for an hour and generally takes place under local anaesthetic with the administration of a sedative, although sometimes a general anaesthetic is given. The patient does not always need to stay in the clinic.

Recovering after the operation

A plaster cast must be worn for 7 to 8 days. There is generally not too much bruising around the eyes and it disappears in the space of a week. After ablation of the plaster cast, the traces of the operation have almost entirely gone. This operation is not painful and you will be able to go back to your normal life approximately two weeks after your operation.

Results

You will need to wait for a number of months before you will be able to see the final result. The surgeon brings all of his or her skill to bear to preserve the natural appearance of the nose and to restore harmony to the face.
