AESTHETIC EYELID SURGERY

Aesthetic eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty helps to remove excess fat and skin from the upper or lower eyelids. The incision is hidden in a natural fold or made right on the eyelashes and is practically undetectable. If there is no excess skin to be removed, it can even be avoided; in this case just the pockets of fat are removed through a transconjunctival approach. This operation is usually performed on both men and women aged forty and over. Biological examinations are always carried out before the operation, supplemented by an ophthalmological assessment where necessary. The operation does not require admission to hospital and usually takes place under local anaesthetic.

Recovering after the operation

The ablation of the stiches is carried out on the fourth day after the operation and the bruising takes roughly a week to disappear.
