Buttock lipofilling is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anaesthesia, as several anatomical sites are involved during the same operation.

A consultation with your anesthesiologist will take place a few days before your procedure.

First, the surgeon harvests the fat using suitable cannulas, from the areas defined during the consultation.

The donor areas may include the flanks (love handles), abdomen, back or thighs. Liposuction of the flanks helps redefine the waist and enhance the curve of the hips and buttocks. The contours of the buttocks and the saddle bags can also be treated when indicated. The choice of areas depends on your body shape and the amount of fat required.

The harvested fat is then prepared to select the fatty tissue to be reinjected.

The surgeon then makes small incisions and reinjects the fat using suitable cannulas, in several passes, into the subcutaneous fatty tissue of the buttocks. In line with safety recommendations, the fat is injected above the muscular fascia, with no injection into the gluteal muscle. The use of real-time ultrasound makes it possible to monitor the position of the cannula during injection.

Scars are generally very discreet. Their number depends on the donor areas and the injection points required. The small incisions made in the buttocks are usually a few millimetres long, but their final appearance varies depending on the technique and individual healing.

The duration of the procedure depends on the number of donor areas, the volume of fat to be transferred and the complexity of the surgical technique. It generally lasts between 1 hour 30 minutes and 3 hours, depending on the case.

Pain is generally moderate, more pronounced in the suctioned areas, and will be relieved with simple analgesics.

Any edema on the donor areas and the breasts disappear between 1 and 3 months, as for bruises disappear after a few weeks. It is recommended to rest for one week after the operation and to stop sports activities for up to 3 months if they involve the buttocks.

An elastic compression garment must be worn for 4 weeks after buttock augmentation surgery.

You will have to sleep on your stomach during the first days after surgery and to sit on the lower part of the buttocks or on the thighs for the 3 first post-operative weeks. Manual lymphatic drainage sessions from the first days, followed by Endermologie® drainage will accelerate the resorption of edema and optimize healing.

The result can be seen from the first month, and the final result will be assessed after 6 months, once the fat that has not taken has been resorbed.

This procedure generally provides great satisfaction for patients, who will benefit from improved physical and psychological well-being, fully embracing their attractiveness and femininity.

Since the grafted fat is alive and dependent on weight variations, the patient must ensure that she does not lose weight in order to maintain the volume of her buttocks. On the other hand, it will tend to increase if the patient gains weight.
