What is proctology?
Proctology is the medical specialty dedicated to conditions of the anus and anal canal: hemorrhoids, anal fissures, perianal fistulas and abscesses, pilonidal cysts.
Often misunderstood and surrounded by embarrassment, it nevertheless affects a very large part of the population during their lifetime.
At Laclinic-Montreux, these conditions are treated using minimally invasive techniques, most often with LASER, on an outpatient basis and with absolute discretion.

Conditions we treat
Hemorrhoids
Bleeding, discomfort, itching, and prolapse. Symptomatic internal hemorrhoids are treated with laser in a minimally invasive way, without extensive removal or stitches, and therefore almost painlessly.
Discover laser hemorrhoid treatment, LHP (laser hemorrhoidoplasty) combined with RAR (recto-anal repair) for the correction of associated mucosal prolapse.
Anal fissure
Sharp pain during bowel movements, which can last for hours, sometimes accompanied by bleeding.
An anal fissure is one of the most common causes of anal pain.
Treatment ranges from medical management to minimally invasive surgical correction (LaFip) using the LOMA LASER device.
Anal fistula
A frequent consequence of an abscess, an anal fistula is an infected collection within the thickness of the anal sphincter, requiring appropriate treatment.
Laser techniques, such as the FiLaC technique, preserve the sphincter and limit post-operative effects.
Abscess and anal suppuration
Painful and rapid in onset, a perianal abscess requires immediate care to drain the infection and prevent complications, especially the development of a perianal fistula, which is more difficult to treat.
