Dr. Ionel Roman

He practiced for many years at the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital, where he developed extensive experience in general and digestive surgery. Between 2004 and 2015, he served as an Attending Physician in general and digestive surgery, as well as the Emergency On-call Team Leader, in a demanding and high-activity hospital environment.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Roman has been deeply involved in university teaching. From 2000 to 2015, he taught surgery at the Department of Surgery of the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, specifically for medical students and within the university’s English-speaking module.

His career path has led him to develop particular expertise in proctology and phlebology.

Dr. Ionel Roman

From 2007 to 2015, he served as Medical Director at LaurusMedical, which brings together eleven clinics and 60 specialists in outpatient proctology and phlebology. In this role, more than 10,000 patients were treated for hemorrhoidal disease through outpatient procedures.

Now based in Switzerland, Dr. Roman completed his training in proctology at the Geneva University Hospitals, specifically within the Proctology Unit, with specialized training in anal ultrasound and perineal surgery. He has also trained in various modern phlebology techniques, including endovenous laser treatment for varicose veins, both in Switzerland and abroad.

Recognized for his rigorous, pragmatic, and attentive approach, Dr. Roman places his surgical experience at the service of clear, safe, and personalized care, particularly in the fields of general surgery, proctology, and the treatment of venous pathologies.
